About the Opportunity

Due to an exciting period of expansion, the Yukon Hospital Corporation is currently seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team based in Whitehorse on a full-time basis. 

As our new Human Resources Manager, you'll report to the Director of People, Services, & Culture (PS&C) while you enable the Yukon Hospital Corporation to offer the best care every time though effective human resources management. 

More specifically your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the human resources function and related client services.
  • Carrying our labour relations and employee relations. 
  • Reviewing employee compensation.
  • Ensuring workforce development and successful recruitment. 

In order to qualify for this role, you will need a post-secondary education in business, human resources management, or organizational effectiveness along with a minimum of 5 years of strategic human resources of labour relations management experience in a unionized environment preferably within a hospital or health authority. Individuals with a differing mix of skills and experience may also be considered. A CPHR designation is also required as is demonstrated experience with HR metrics and using data to solve real-world issues. 

As a human resources leader within the Yukon Hospital Corporation, you'll combine your in-depth knowledge of HR management theory and practice with your excellent communication skills and your client-centred approach in order to deliver an excellent HR experience to our team. Your aptitude for stakeholder management will combine with your empathetic nature allowing you to thrive while you work towards many competing demands and deadlines. Your ability to plan, organize, schedule, assign work, and assess employee performance will serve you well as you help motivate our team to deliver the best care to our patients.
