Your Opportunity

We’re seeking an Online Customer Service Representative with 2+ years full-time experience who is sincerely interested in helping us with our mission to help people increase their bone density and return to the active, independent life they deserve.

In this role, you’ll be the voice of AlgaeCal across all social platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, Youtube, Quora). You will write clear and concise responses that make people feel heard, understood, and well taken care of.

You’ll help us monitor our brand online, gather feedback and provide outstanding customer service.

What Do We Do?

AlgaeCal is an online nutritional supplement company, and one of Canada’s fastest-growing companies. One of the reasons for that growth? We offer something no other company has: a natural, clinically-supported approach to bone loss. Bone scans show we’re actually increasing bone density in adults across the world and helping them return to an active, independent lifestyle.

But traditional “wisdom” says increasing bone density isn’t possible. So we need help to spread the word about AlgaeCal. That’s where you come in!

Below are a few of the primary tasks you can look forward to while working from our office in Vancouver’s exciting Mount Pleasant area:

  • Responding to our community across all social platforms in a friendly and timely manner while maintaining our company voice. This includes social media requests, questions in forums, and product reviews.
  • Responding to reporters looking for sources (usually related to bone health, nutrition, and exercise).
  • You’ll stay in regular touch with your friendly colleagues in sales and marketing to ensure that our brand voice is consistent and clear.
  • You’ll be a researcher of all things AlgaeCal. We’re continually updating our blog with articles about bone health, nutrition, and exercise and staying up to date with this content will 10x your confidence - and you’ll feel fantastic about your growing expertise.
  • With your top-notch social listening skills, you’ll become the eyes and ears of AlgaeCal across various online groups and forums. (This is the James Bond part of your job). The insights you glean will be invaluable to your colleagues, and they’ll eagerly gobble up any information you unearth.
  • You’ll demonstrate AlgaeCal’s impact on social media by preparing detailed monthly reports. This is an excellent opportunity to let everyone know about all the great stuff you’re doing!
  • Petting our office Weimaraner and valued team member, Buddy. (He usually makes his rounds of the office just after lunch.)

Ideal Candidate Skills

  • Exceptional written communication with the ability to craft concise, high-quality responses that are both honest and empathetic
  • Critical thinker with a keen ability to interpret questions, read between the lines, and find genuine solutions
  • Calm and empathetic when managing reactive comments on social media
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to maintain organized workflow
  • Interest & experience in the health and wellness field is a plus

What Will You Earn?

Let’s agree on salary and vacation once we know what you offer, but our goal is to pay above the market rate for your unique skills.
