Key job responsibilities
We are looking for a leader of leaders. Someone who can build and develop and high performing team that delivers solutions for large, multi-functional projects on-time and with exceptional quality. You will own an area of strategic importance that is critical to Amazon's ability to scale recruiting to meet future demand. You will work daily to anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, and balance business needs versus technical constraints. You will create a culture of innovation, encouraging your teams to evolve software to drive your business forward.
A day in the life
Your daily routine will include meeting with leadership and your team to plan and execute on your goals. You will coach and mentor your leaders, create the mechanisms to raise the bar on operational excellence, and hold the team to account to ensure that standards are constantly driven higher. The team places great value on work-life balance - you will work with your team to define norms for when and where work is done, with significant flexibility on office and home work locations.

- Experience in partnering with product and program management teams
- 5+ years of people management experience, managing engineers
- 10+ years of relevant engineering experience
- 3+ years of experience managing managers
- Experience with modern software development practices including automated testing, refactoring, continuous integration, and continuous deployment
- Experience leading the delivery of large, cross-team projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience analyzing business and operational metrics
- Experience leading the development of machine learning systems
- Experience delivering complex projects in partnership with remote colleagues.
